Presentation of biogas production project

Presentation of biogas production project

9 de September de 2022

The Circular Economy and Environmental Management Research Group belonging to the School of Forestry, Agronomy and Bioenergy Engineering of the University of Valladolid presents its pilot plant for biogas production located in the R&D Building that is part of the Duques de Soria University Campus.

Within the project, KEPLER has been in charge of the design and assembly of the plant that aims to valorize the organic waste generated in the Campus cafeteria through the process of anaerobic digestion. The combustion of the biogas produced will generate energy in the form of heat that will be used in the cafeteria itself as part of the actions aimed at the energy sustainability of the building.

In addition to its demonstrative function, this pilot will be part of other lines of research related to bioenergy and bioproducts production, such as alternative biogas upgrading systems, volatile fatty acid production, biological desulfurization and others.

At KEPLER we are delighted to be part of this type of initiatives demonstrating the potential of the production of this biotechnology as a key tool in the development of a circular economy model in the mitigation of climate change.
